Set in the quiet rural village of Debert, Nova Scotia the Debert Hospitality Centre is a uniquely designed, modern and fully equipped facility, nestled in picturesque Debert. Centrally located in Nova Scotia (one hour from HRM), an ideal setting that specializes in conferences, events and other functions.
The Centre provides all the necessities for a the Summit, including large meeting and banquet rooms, as well as onsite catering.

THE DHC ROOTS

The Debert Hospitality Centre is located on the traditional territory of the Mi’kmaw Nation. They are proud as an indigenous business to support the work being done by our people in Mi’kmaw’ki. The land around CHC is rich in history dating back more than 11, 000 years. DHC treasure this legacy and it inspires them in our work.
In the early 2000s the Debert Hospitality Centre was the site of a number of meetings that eventually led to the 2008 apology to Residential School Survivors. Since they opened our doors in 2002, numerous ceremonies, healing circles, language courses, workshops, teachings, and celebrations have taken place.
The leadership is a team of Cree, Métis, and Mi’kmaq business owners.
They honour the traditions in the ways they do business. Smudging is permitted anywhere within our building or on the land surrounding us. They have a permanent sweat lodge on site as well as traditional medicines and a drum that can be borrowed. This is just one of the ways in which they support our people.
